Working in a Microsoft Windows-centric environment, I am practicing modern methods of automated, repeatable, and consistent service life cycles. Packer and Salt are the building blocks. Service monitoring and metrics have become an essential part of my methods, and I am building a stack based on several open source applications as part of this exploration, including Sensu, Alerta, Flapjack, Uchiwa, and the Elastic Stack
